Wreck Camp is a comics cartooning art summer day camp designed around the artistic process of “the happy accident.” Deriving from “good luck,” “happens,” ”to,” “befell” the artist. Campers will engage their agency, perspective, and creativity through relevance and collaboration. Balancing practicality in art and flexibility of emotion we grow when engaging with the nature of the accident. This is a camper-centered problem-solving process. Campers physically design and build art together. The memories they build are the bonds of summer camp. Together they create solutions to problems they imagined. As they happen upon solutions that befell them with good luck. Oh, the fun they had with “the happy accidents” at Wreck Camp.
